Bangladesh-China Power Company Ltd (BCPCL) signed Coal Supply Agreement for the operation of its Payra 1320 MW Thermal Power Plant (1st Phase) in Patuakhali on 17 June, 2019 at the Ball Room, The Westin, Road-45, Gulshan-2, Dhaka. As per the contract, Indonesian firm PT Bayan Resources Tbk will supply the required coal for the 1st Phase of the power plant. This is the first agreement for coal import for Bangladesh.
